Jason Horton, an "Ed" day player, has graciously given his permission to print his memoirs here at The Smiling Goat website while he works on the set of the show. We hope that you enjoy his insights and experiences. (Thanks Jason!)

From 'Loyalties': "Well this shoot from what I remember was from 2PM until about 3:30AM. A LOT of 'bowling' and just being a 'regular' at Stuckeybowl. Rena Sofer was there. (She's) really nice. She winked at me so it sort of made my night. She was goofing off doing some really weird body contortions. John Goodman was cool but he kept messing up this one scene (at about 1AM) and he was getting a little frustrated and a little cursing ensued. (He) seemed like a good guy. When he came into the (bowling) alley, I (my character) was talking with some guys and they 'recognized' him as the former owner(of Stuckeybowl), but I didn't know him so I looked perplexed. After that I just went to the Snack Bar by the pay phone and talked to some ladies. Tom Cavanagh goofed off like he seems to do right up until "ACTION"! (It was) a good time, (with) good food, (I) couldn't ask for more."

Filming from October 1: "This was a 6AM pickup from Manhattan to Hillsdale for an exterior scene. We had breakfast at craft service. I was standing next to Tom Cavanagh when he ordered a breakfast burrito. From there we did an exterior scene in town. It was with 'Ed' and 'Mike' doing a $10 bet. I just walk past them and give a look at the weird thing 'Mike' is doing for the bet. We do this from many angles. 'Carol' and 'Molly' see this "person" that the other guys just goofed on for the bet earlier. It was raining on and off but we had to pretend it wasn't. Julie Bowen cursed a bit. Then we took a bus to Northvale to the alley (set). (I) did some bowling scenes, walking around, etc. Also they need a waiter. So they needed to pick one, so they picked me because the woman in charge 'liked' my face. (I) did a scene in The Smiling Goat with 'Ed' and 'Liz'. The day ended about 9PM. They bused us back to Manhattan, then I took a train home. (I had) another great time. Oh, and I made a LOT of $$$!"
