(3.1) 'HUMAN NATURE' - Ed anxiously awaits for Carol's return from her vacation with Dennis. Meanwhile, he finds that he must defend a scheming psychologist (played by special guest star Danny Devito) in order to help out a friend. An unexpected turn of events leads to the hiring of a new employee (played by new series regular Daryl 'Chill' Mitchell). Original Air Date: September 25, 2002.

(3.2) 'MISS STUCKEYVILLE' - When Carol finally reveals the news she has been withholding, Ed reacts with disbelieving laughter. Diane (Ginnifer Goodwin) decides to enter the Miss Stuckeyville Pageant if Mark (Michael Genadry) changes his eating habits. Meanwhile, back at Stuckeybowl, Phil and Eli grapple to get the upper hand. Original Air Date: October 2, 2002.
(3.3) 'THE ROAD' - Ed is inspired by a full-time traveller (played by guest star Eric Thal) to go on a 'road trip' to leave his worries behind. Carol discovers that her wedding ideas do not exactly coincide with Dennis'. Nancy's hope of becoming a high school guidance counsellor is challenged by a lackadaisical student (played by Jacob Pitts). Back at Stuckeybowl, Phil and Eli play hoops for the chance to use Ed's office. Original Air Date: October 9, 2002.
(3.4) 'CHARLOTTE & WILBUR' - Carol upsets her father (played by Dan Lauria) with her engagement news, but soon discovers that he has surprising news of his own. Meanwhile Ed decides to help Eli retain his dance title by being his substitute in the annual Stuckeyville Jitterbug Dance Contest. A rebellious Warren goes to extreme lengths to protest the traditional SAT's. Original Air Date: October 16, 2002.
(3.5) 'THE DIVORCE' - Ed finds himself caught in the middle when hired to dissolve a partnership established by a pair of long-time radio deejays (played by Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell), but things get worse when the two blame him after Carol writes a story about the impending split in the local paper. Meanwhile, Nancy and Mike try out 'pre-emptive' marriage counselling by visiting a therapist (played by Lisa Ling). Original Air Date: October 30, 2002.
(3.6) 'MAY THE BEST MAN WIN' - Despite Dennis disagreeing with Carol about Ed attending their wedding, he sarcastically asks him to be his best man. In response, Ed attempts to embarrass Dennis by throwing a wild and raucous bachelor party. Meanwhile, Ed's old romantic interest, Jennifer Bradley (reprised by Kelly Ripa), returns to Stuckeybowl, and his life, in need of legal help concerning her apartment superintendent.  Original Air Date: November 6, 2002.
(3.7) 'THE WEDDING' -  As the time for Carol's wedding ceremony draws closer, Ed is torn over whether to show up as just a friend, or more. Jennifer (played by Kelly Ripa) notices his anguish and encourages him to take drastic action. Meanwhile, despite a 10 year age difference, Warren finds a kindred spirit in Carol's younger sister Stella (played by Nicki Aycox). Original Air Date: November 13, 2002.
(3.8) 'TRAPPED' -  Jennifer (played by Kelly Ripa) urges Ed to join her on an African safari. Ed & Carol's incessant whining about each other leads to a lock-up at the lanes, planned by their closest friends, to work out their differences. This leads to an interesting board game between Eli and Phil and a mini-talent show by the multi-faceted Mike Burton. Original Air Date: November 20, 2002.
(3.9) 'MAKEOVERS' -  When Ed & Carol unexpectedly meet downtown, their supposed rift is put on the backburner as they run into Ed's brother Lloyd (reprised by Timothy Busfield), who is convinced about a new line of men's make-up. After his father suffers a heart attack, Mark attempts to avoid the fact that he may follow the same path, despite concerned words from Mike and Warren. Original Air Date: December 11, 2002.
(3.10) 'NEIGHBORS' -  Ed tries to keep the peace while defending a client being sued for a petty complaint. Carol attempts to convince Molly that she would make a perfect candidate for the vacant principal's position. Over at Stuckeybowl, Phil secures Eli's help to become a spokesperson for the local sub shop. Original Air Date: December 18, 2002.
(3.11) 'FRANKIE' -  While representing an injured high school football player, Ed runs into a sharp and attractive attorney (played by Sabrina Lloyd), who is pursuing a job at the Stuckeybowl law office. Molly, in her new position as principal, discovers that being overly cool can lead to further conflicts. Meanwhile, to comfort Mark before his upcoming surgery, Diane and Warren plan a lavish gourmet meal, with Eli's able assistance. Original Air Date: January 8, 2003.
(3.12) 'PARTNERS' -  Ed and recently hired Frankie(Sabrina Lloyd) represent a man (played by Howard Spiegel) whose sister (played by Margo Martindale) is trying to publically 'out' him. Mike discovers that his former employer, Dr.Jerome (Marvin Chatinover) is ruining his practice. Meanwhile Carol checks out the immediate area for potential romance. Original Air Date: January 15, 2003.
(3.13) 'HYENAS & WILDEBEESTS' -  Carol is sued after publishing a less-than complimentary newspaper review of a new restaurant owned by a former high school classmate (played by Charles Borland) who humiliated Molly. When a geeky student (Matthew Stadelman) is being ridiculed by school bullies, Molly steps in to help him. Back at the alley, Phil plans to attract a younger clientele by going to the extreme. Original Air Date: January 22, 2003.
(3.14) 'THE CASE' -  Ed faces his first murder case when urged by Eli (Daryl Mitchell) to defend his longtime friend. Molly finds herself becoming attracted to the firefighter father (guest star Tom Wilson) of a nerdy student (Matthew Stadelman). Back at Stuckeybowl, the working relationship between Ed and Frankie (Sabrina Lloyd) gets interesting. Original Air Date: February 5, 2003.
(3.15) 'BLIPS' -  Ed becomes obsessed with leaving a legacy after meeting a famous artist (guest star Tim Matheson) who reminds him that he has done nothing memorable. Carol's sister Stella (Nicki Aycox) returns to Stuckeyville after breaking up with the artist, while Phil and Eli attempt to find wealth by composing a new Birthday song. Meanwhile,  Frankie (Sabrina Lloyd) breaks up with her rarely seen boyfriend. Original Air Date: February 12, 2003.
(3.16) 'GOOD ADVICE' -  Frankie must defend Ed after he is sued for basically being a good samaritan. Meanwhile a lovestruck Warren pursues a much older Stella (Nicki Aycox). Back at Stuckeyville High, Molly must deal with a conflicted student (Matthew Stadelman), so that she can continue to spend time with his father (Tom Wilson). Original Air Date: February 19, 2003.
(3.17) 'CAPTAIN LUCIDITY' -  Ed attempts lucid dreaming to find the basis for his romantic setbacks, encountering unusual circumstances and unlikely characters, including guest star Taye Diggs and rock duo Hall & Oates ( Daryl Hall & John Oates).  (Original Air Date: February 26, 2003.
(3.18) 'BUSINESS AS USUAL' -  A case involving contractual marriage obligations causes a professional rift between Ed and Frankie (Sabrina Lloyd). Meanwhile over at the clinic, Mike and Dr. Jerome (Marvin Chatinover) resort to oneupmanship regarding their building sign. At Stuckeyville High, Mark is concerned when a fellow student considers gastric bypass surgery. Original Air Date: March 5, 2003.
(3.19) 'BABYSITTING' -  When a weekend of babysitting the Burtons' infant daughter becomes difficult, Ed asks Carol for assistance. Meanwhile Mike and Nancy spend an interesting weekend at a bed and breakfast, which is owned by an enthusiastic  innkeeper (played by Molly Shannon). Over at the alley, Phil believes that he has a good idea for a newspaper article. Original Air Date: March 12, 2003.
(3.20) 'SECOND CHANCES' -  Ed finds himself between a bowling ball and a hard place when Frankie (Sabrina Lloyd) hears of his wild romantic gestures to Carol. Meanwhile, a matchmaking Molly introduces Carol to an interesting new history teacher (played by Chris Isaak). At Stuckeybowl, Eli is reluctant to help out the struggling owner of his former restaurant. Original Air Date: March 28, 2003.
(3.21) 'THE MOVIE' -  Ed must deal with Carol's sudden proclamation of love, Frankie's resentment of their situation, and the appearance of his old grade six teacher (played by Christopher Lloyd), who wants to make a movie starring Michael Winslow (played by himself). Meanwhile, Warren must come to terms with the news that Stella is moving back to Boston. Original Air Date: April 4, 2003.
(3.22) 'THE DECISION' -  Season Finale. Carol and Frankie await Ed's decision regarding which one he has chosen to move forward with. Meanwhile, Mike flirts with near disaster after accepting an invitation to a party from a comely co-ed.  At the alley, Phil urges Eli to ask an attractive regular to join him at Stuckeybowl's 75th anniversary party.
